Our story

We never thought we would end up running a restaurant. And yet here we are — savouring every minute of it.

Life takes strange turns. I never thought we would be running a restaurant. Up until now we have always worked in completely different fields, and though I spent the summers of my childhood as the son of an old hospitality family — sometimes as the ice-cream boy, sometimes behind the counter, while my future wife flipped pancakes in a caravan to earn a coveted pair of Adidas shoes — neither of us ever dreamed of a career like this.

Then came a turning point. As silent partners, we had to decide. And it felt that letting the place go for good would take more courage than trying our hand at it. Thank goodness we were not brave enough.

These are the moments we are living now, and honestly: we are enjoying them. People asked what kind of restaurant we wanted. I said, and meant: above all, one I would proudly walk into. Where, beyond the guests, the staff smile too. Where we feel at home and meet familiar, returning faces and families week after week. Where everyone finds something to love — whether thirsty or hungry.
